EASTERN OAK PARK MASTER PLAN APPROVED

Demolition of YMCA facilities coming soon to make way for new development

On April 14 the District Advisory Board of Directors approved the Final Master Plan for this site.  The plan is now being reviewed by the County Department of Planning and Environmental Review. This summer the YMCA buildings and swimming pool will be demolished, making way for the new park improvements in 2016.  When the environmental review is completed this fall, the County Board of Supervisors will be asked to approve the Master Plan.   Over the fall and winter months, our landscape architect will complete the construction drawings, and in spring 2016 the first project will be placed out to bid. This will include a good portion of the work closest to Eastern Avenue.  Due to the cost of the development, it will take a few years to complete all the planned park improvements.
